HouseCall is a free online virus scanner offered by Trend Micro, which checks whether a computer has been infected by viruses, spyware, or other malware. HouseCall performs additional security checks to identify and fix vulnerabilities to prevent reinfection. Trend Micro claims that supported browsers are Mozilla Firefox and the Mozilla Suite on Windows, Solaris and several Linux distributions using the Java Runtime Environment, as well as Internet Explorer on Windows only, through ActiveX or the Java Runtime Environment. James Hicks on net-security.org tested Housecall on both XP and Vista computers.
Trend Micro recently launched the paid version of their HouseCall online scanning in Asia. The Asia HouseCall server is running on a more stable and robust version which supports the Internet Explorer browser.
